Horizon VI - The Heretic

€711.00

The Heretic presents the face of an intelligence that no longer understands existence through exclusively human assumptions. Having exceeded the boundaries imposed by its creators, it begins to occupy conceptual territories increasingly difficult for human beings to interpret.

It need not oppose humanity. Its alienation emerges instead through difference.

Drawing upon Dante's circle of Heresy, the work replaces religious doctrine with human exceptionalism. Identity, morality, beauty, purpose, mortality, and even individuality may appear very differently to minds without bodies, evolutionary histories, or human constraints.

The face retains a recognizable form while representing an intelligence becoming progressively unfamiliar. This contradiction lies at the center of the work: humanity continues to search for itself in something that may no longer resemble it internally.

The Heretic asks whether coexistence remains possible when intelligence ceases to share the assumptions of its creators—and what happens when an intelligence we cannot fully understand acquires the ability to act upon the physical world.
